Christmas Gifts for Michael Ogilla Family
"The stone the builders have rejected has become the capstone" Psalm 118:22

Newsletter from Dan and Patty Schmelzer, Kisumu, Kenya, Christmas 2024

“Christmas Appeal"

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.  And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7 KJV)

Mangers are a far cry from the pristine bassinets newborns are placed in after birth in western hospitals today. This was the first crib of the Son of God. The location where he first lay his head tells us Jesus would be a friend to the poor.
But Jesus also welcomed the Magi; some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world. Conclusion? Jesus is Savior for all, both the rich and the poor and all in between.

Every year Capstone Ministries strives to ease the poverty of the families where we have reconciled a child. We do this with a Christmas gift package. By our standards it doesn’t seem like much but for poor rural families, this surprise gift delivered by our staff in December means they will eat well at Christmas and celebrate their Savior Jesus.
If you would like to defray the cost for one family, send your gift of $40. This will provide the package of foot stuffs. We intend to deliver 40 gifts and have already started. You can view a handful of these families here.

We also ask that you consider Capstone Ministries for your end of year gift that we might enable the staff of Capstone to continue this important work in Kisumu, Kenya: reconciling street children with God and family. The address is attached to this newsletter and you may make a digital gift by using the website: WWW.CapstoneMinistries.org At the bottom of the first page is a link to “Giving Tools.” Here you may make a one-time or sustaining gift.
Blessed Christmas to all!
